Envisioned as "an air purifier that can do more", the goal was to design an air filter unit that fit more seamlessly into the home. While exploring potential solutions, the idea of disguising such an appliance as furniture seemed to check every box - Rather than try to blend in to existing room décor, it could just be the décor.

The coffee table form was selected as it provided the most physical volume with which to nest the necessary components, while maintaining its utility as furniture.

This allowed for a design that accommodates standard 24" x 24" HEPA air filters which are widely available and circumvented the need to purchase proprietary replacement filters in the future.

A simple capacitive touch LED interface embedded in the tabletop allows for control of the unit. More advanced features, like filtration data or scheduling automated filter cycles is available via bluetooth APP control.
